Description
Vampires work a bit differently in my world. Rather than being undead creatures, they possess a disease which transforms them into stronger individuals. Marked vampires are transformed when a vampire's saliva enters their bloodstream. When this happens, there is a small chance the disease passes into the victim, which not only allows them to survive the attack, but also transforms them into a vampire.
Once transformed, their skin becomes more pale, they gain small retractable fangs, and their eyes become a shade of pink/red. They also enter a bloodthirsty rage, as the disease attempts to spread to other people. However, they regain control after 48 hours, or once they've gotten their fill.
These vampires don't need blood to survive, but it does make them stronger. However, with more strength also comes more weaknesses. The more blood a vampire drinks, the harder it is for them to abstain later.
