I always thought Disney should've gone with their first choice regarding Zira's demise:
ZIRA CHOOSES TO DIE RATHER THAN BE SAVED BY SIMBA'S DAUGHTER was Disney's first choice.
and she maintained her defiant grin as she plunged to her death.
I REALLY HATE how Disney ruin their villains. When was the last time you saw a Charismatic villain from Disney? IMO, NOT SINCE Maleficent.
