No, this isn't a harp on "How To Train Your Dragon". This was an illustration used in a sermon by my former pastor. The dragons are like our "demons"; your past, your fears, the things that keep you bound and keep you from moving forward. Sometimes we train our dragons to just subside when we need them to so we think we've moved past. But in reality, the dragon is still there, lurking to lunge on us at any given moment. And sometimes, even worse, we lean on our dragons as if they're our only friends.

Last night, I made the decision to defeat my dragons. I no longer want to live bound by my past, depression, anxiety, hatred, fear, and bitterness. I am choosing to live free. And to be honest, when I made that decision last night, I thought for a moment, "How am I going to live without these things?" But then the youth pastor I lead under read this verse:
Genesis 27:40:
"But when you decide to break free, you will shake his yoke from your neck."

And that's exactly what I've chosen to do.
