It really is an odd thing. When I first saw it I was kind of taken aback. It is really part of this old tree's roots with grass growing around it. It looks right up at you if you are looking down. You are right it is a bit spooky.

That reminds me of the little white bobble head things from the movie Princess Mononoke. Really great movie and whats funny is that the little white bobble heads are like the forests children or something like that. Good luck. Really great
