This is true. I am quite a specimen. XD LOL! I'm also a very good story teller when it comes to romances. 
In high school I wrote a poem that stunned the class, made the guys call me player and made the girls look at me, well after, I had recited the poem. It was a poem about a girl's heart. XD

I'd... honestly be really conflicted. Stay with the friends I'd made over the time I was there, or go back home to my own species, my planet, my place in the universe? Which counts more, family or friends? Love you've had your whole life, or perhaps love that was just sparked?
It's a really difficult choice, as you're giving up one life for another. What if you wanted to carry on your family tree? Is becoming a pony possible? Cross-breeding sure isn't. Even if these ponies could provide you so much happiness, it's finite, as their lifetimes may very well be far shorter than a human's, or far longer. Whether or not you could live as long as your friends is a factor in all this.
And what of your old life? What was it like back home? I've seen so many fanfics have the human be transported to Equestria from a shitty life, but what if you had it all back home? Money, family, friends, wealth in experience and material gain? Would you want to give that up, or would you want to go back?
I'm surprised so many people are saying they'd stay in Equestria no matter what. I'd... actually want quite a bit of time to think, even if it was because I was saying goodbye. Memories may be powerful... but they just don't match up to real, true experiences.
Because memories? Memories never change. They don't grow, or become something different, while life... can change in an instant, for better or for worse. I don't think I'd be able to live with just remembering what it was like back home, but I wouldn't want to sever my connection to Equestria just like that, because then, all my happy memories there would make me regret leaving.
Like I said above, and I'll say it again.
It's a choice you can't take lightly.
