This is a really old My Little Pony OC I have. I recently decided to redraw her and give her a proper backstory. I haven't really been keeping up with the new MLP seasons so if I wrote something that contradicts the show, I’m sorry. I wrote this bio in only a few hours so it’s not that well written. Anyways, I hope whoever reads this enjoys it.

Mane Color/Style/length: Star's mane is a long curly mess that she has to tie up at the end or else it would fly all over the place. Her tail and mane color is mostly a light blue with some purple that is slightly darker than her coat.

Coat Description: Her coat is a darkish purple. It is quite fluffy and easy to take care of when dry. When wet it becomes very messy and hard to brush due to how curly it is.

Accessories: Star has a heart-shaped locket that she found as a foal. She has never been able to open it, so she has no idea what is inside of it. It is enchanted with a powerful spell that keeps the locket from being opened or damaged. Star has made it one of her goals to find the right spell to open the necklaces.

Personality: Star is a cheerful pony who is friendly to everyone she knows. She can be quite silly around those she knows well but will be quite serious and calculated around strangers. She can also be that way in serious situations. Around her friends, she is quite carefree, and she likes to crack jokes, but only around her friends. She likes to keep up a serious attitude around the workplace as well as around those she doesn't know too well. This causes ponies to stray away from her if they don’t get to know her, to them she will seem uptight, snobbish, and cold. Once you get to know her, however, her true colors will show and she ends up being a fun pony to be around. Although she can seem serious, she has a hard time reading the atmosphere and social cues, this can get her to say things at the most inappropriate times.

Likes: Star likes things such as books, music, her friends, history, sweet foods, the indoors, the beach, and animals.

Dislikes: Star dislikes cold or rainy weather, large crowds, noisy arias, and having nothing to do.

Strengths: Some of her strengths are her magic abilities, her ability to remember information, and her ability to act calm under pressure. She is also quite good at strategizing, problem-solving and noticing the smallest things.
Weaknesses/flaws: She has a hard time expressing her emotions and as stated earlier reading the atmosphere as well as the emotions of other ponies. She tends to stay up late at night doing work witch leaves her somewhat drained and grouchy in the morning hours. She also tends to stretch above and beyond with projects she works on, she gets so invested in what she works on that she won't leave her home or sleep till it’s done.

Backstory:

Stardusts mother Afterglow was a unicorn who specialized in astronomy and the magic behind moving the celestial bodies. Her father Comet tail was pegasus who helped map out the weather around Equestria who moved into teaching Meteorology. Her parents met while teaching in Canterlot. They fell in love with one another and had Star.

As a young pony Stars parents were barely around due to their jobs. They were both professors who took their work very seriously. Whenever her parents were around they would push her to work on her studies and school work. Due to this, she felt she grew up without feeling any love from her family. On the contrary, her parents worked and pushed her as hard as they did so Star would have a successful life. Most of her life she had been homeschooled by a private tooter her parents paid for. Once old enough she enrolled in Princess Celestia's school for gifted unicorns. She was accepted and was put into classes with other ponies. She had never really interacted with other ponies her age until then so she had a hard time adjusting. She never really made any friends with the other ponies. Whenever she tried the other ponies wouldn’t pay attention to her. She had become an outcast due to her personality. The other ponies thought she was weird and odd. This drove her to focus more on her studies. She grew to love learning about Equestrias history and Equestrias old spells. Star frequently tried to cast many of the spells she found in her books.

One day while she was the deepest parts of her school's large library she came across an old book that looked as if it hadn't been touched in years. She opened it to find it full of old complex spells in a language she didn't understand. While observing the book something fell out of the back. She looked down to see a locket. She picked it up using her magic to see it was a locket. Star tried to open it but no matter what she tried it wouldn’t open. She decided to put on the locket and once she did the locket emitted a blinding light. Once the light was gone the locket had changed into the shape of a heart. Star tried to take off the locket but it wouldn’t come off, it was stuck around her neck. It seemed that the locket had a strong spell cast upon it. She ran out of the library with the book and locket, she made sure no one saw her leave with the idioms. Surely no one would miss it, it was as if the book hadn't been touched in melanomas. Once home she started to figure out what language the spells were written in. It took a few months but she was able to decipher one of the spells in the book using other books and resources she had. Unfortunately, each spell was written in different languages, so it would take more time than she first thought to decrypt them. Once she decrypted the first spell in the book her cutie mark appeared.

As the years went by she learned more and more until she finally graduated from Princess Celestia's school for gifted unicorns. She moved out of her parents home and into her own home in Canterlot. From there she dedicated most of her time to research and discovery. Even after all those years, Star was still trying to decipher the book she found as a foal.

One day when she was out doing some chores around Canterlot. While she was walking home with a mountain of things in her hooves two ponies ran right into her resulting in Star dropping what she was carrying. These two ponies were Autumn Heart and Shadow Twister. They apologized profusely and offered to help Star take her things back to her home. She declined not wanting to talk with those ponies for too long but they insisted on helping her. Star reluctantly agreed to letting them help her. They brought her things to her home, she learned a lot about the two ponies on the way to her house. They both were visiting from a small town called Ponyvill and would be staying in Canterlot for a few weeks. As they talked she grew to like being in the company of another pony. Once they were at Stars home Star asked them to come in for tea. The three of them soon became good friends during the time Autumn Heart and Shadow Twister were in town. Once they left Star felt sad and lonely like she had been for practically her whole life. After exchanging letters with the two ponies she had met she decided to move to Ponyvill. She moved into a home on the outskirts of the small town and took the job of town historian. She still kept to herself somewhat but Autumn Heart and Shadow Twister opened her mind to making friends and she tried her best to make friends with as many ponies as she could.
