i just think that since DA presents itself as a art community,
people in that community should talk with each other in public so that others may benefit from it as well in a artistic ways and since english is THE global language it's pretty normal that people on a internet site with people from around the world talk a globally known language.
but that's just my opinion really.

i'm asking someone to type in english, since the rest of comments were typed in english, and i saw it was german and that the guy was asking a question, i just couldnt make out what the question was and asked him to
type it in english, so others can understand it.
besides, who are you to comment me on that i just asked the guy a normal question, without trying to piss him off.

no i said more than just these types of situations, but i didnt really think it would annoy as much as it did, i know what you were trying to do i was just trying to argue that i like seeing other languages on this site, but sadly when you ask others to type in english they just cant or are just too uncomfortable with it, and sometimes it gets to the point where google translate does a better job than they do, and that's all it was to me.

true in a way and for some people, english is a b*tch to learn 'cause they're own language has completely different grammar, i know this.
but if you dont try to do so regularly you'll never learn the language, and lets face it english is the globally known language and being able to type and speak it will help you alot in the modern world.i'd suggest people to read english from other comments on the site and put things like movies or games in english to learn it, it helps a butload.
but some people just don't even try to do put info on they're deviations in english or translate, and doing so you'll always have a comment list in a different language. that's why i DON'T understand why people dont even try to learn english, it's actually a pretty easy language, believe me (ever tried learning Dutch? I was better on school with english then Dutch class, and i'm pure Dutch!)nevertheless this argue thing worked out, didn't it?

it didnt work out i just like being difficult, and yes i learn tidbits of dutch here and there because i talk to someone from the netherlands and another from belgium a lot.

yeah but dutch is still hard to learn because of two things:
we don't have anyway to link our grammar pieces together, like germany does,
with dutch it's just the way it is and that's that.
two:
our freaking grammar keeps changing on a yearly basis wich is really anoying, of course we have a basic grammar we hold on to (i think)
but overall, it's been redone sΓ³ many times, we ourselves don't even care any more

yeah, here in holland if you travel 5 minutes there's a different language waiting for ya, i live in venlo wich is a hotspot for germans apparently, but if you travel to tegelen wich lies 5 minutes farther, they speak considerably different ( they have more german words in it, they actually she "du" instead of "dich" for a word like "you" just an example)

I stopped writing ONLY in English here on DA and I try to talk to people in their native tongue - if I can (I know, I failed with you Dutch/German). I'm a but tired about the overall English language dominance, maybe that's why I profit from the small occasions to switch

really i thought i put it netherlands lols, btw it's actually english but thats minor details what wanted to mention is that other artist may benefit by the question and if you actually wanna say something in something anything other then english do it in private it seems more appropriate is all you know i didnt mean it to force it
