My Home Returns

I see a familiar place,
but at the same time,
it looks new.

I feel welcomed,
as I see a small ray of light that grows bigger,
and bigger,
and stronger,
as I walk closer.

I feel sunshine on my face,
the warm light fills
my cold body.

A smile begins to form on my torn lips,
my tight forehead relaxes,
and I release my hands from the fists that hold them.

I don't look back,
the road was long and painful.
Instead,
I look up towards the blue sky,
as tears of joy fill my eyes.

I am home again,
and this time,
I will stay.
