In this scene, John Smith (as Chief Martin Brody), Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse (as Matt Hooper) assert and argue with Mayor Charles Phlegmming (as Mayor Larry Vaughn) that a great white shark is the one who caused the deaths but the mayor dismisses their assertions and refuses to close the beaches for the 4th of July that's is happening the next day.
