Description Jellyfish are causing mayhem as pollution

Pollution in the sea is one of the reasons jellyfish are found on beaches. Scientists working on this issue point to three main reasons. One of them is the increase in sea water temperature, the second is the entry of polluting sources, such as nitrogen and phosphorus into marine environments. The third appears to be the discharge of ballast water from ships engaged in international transport to these regions.

The species we normally call jellyfish is not a species unique to our Marmara, Black Sea and Mediterranean coasts. These are the most common species on the Red Sea and Atlantic coasts. But in recent years, we observe that there is a dense population of jellyfish in the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and now the Marmara Sea. This means that the temperature of the sea water increases, which means that the presence of oxygen there decreases. This means that oxygen-sensitive creatures disappear from there.
