Of your many nude paintings, this is my favorite...a warm and peaceful figure. Thanks for sharing.

There is so much honesty in this one. Sort of Caravaggio-esque in that way.

The flesh is really rendered well. It's an incredibly refreshing piece.

atmosphere of this painting is very similar to Lucian Freud's paintings.

I don't understand why people find her body repelling. I don't. It is simply a body, the body of a woman. We are all different. And the painting is very well executed.

I my opinion Bastien, you have portrayed this woman in a very sensitive and mature manner. The composition is filled with pathos and acts as a reminder of the beauty and transience of life.

Certainly interseting what you chose to do here. Interesting enough that I felt I had to take a look at it. Certainly not my cup of tea, though it sure looks to be a lot of other peoples'. It's got a great realistic look to it. I wish I could draw and color like that. I mean, I wouldn't draw that, but drawing and coloring like that would be nice.

I find it interesting that the artist is the one person that hasn't told me off yet. Maybe he understands exactly what I am referring to in the first place. Some people paint what they see. And others paint what they are forced to paint. hence, the irony of the painting.

stunning.... the "folds" in the skin, the twist tof the body and the shadeing show such ... well the first couple of words that come to mind ... pain, wisdom, passion and torment. beautifuly done. so expressive it makes me want to cry.

What an evocative rendition of the terrible horrors of starvation in the modern age. I hope the model herself is okay, the woman in the painting looks extremely sick.
