Description
Ok so this is the second part of the prologue and now my spellcheck is working again so this should be a bit better, please
critique is very helpful and I promise I will get the main story
next time.
Patrick woke up the next morning in a strange bed. Normally
this would be the first thing on his mind except for the fact that
his whole body hurt and he could barely move. He opened his
eyes a little and saw he was in an old fashioned room with floral
walls made of paper held together by wooden frames. He was in
a small, low to the floor bed. He noticed how soft the blanket
that was covering him was, he guested it was silk and the pillow
was very soft and was also silk. No one in his family had a bed
this nice. But once he thought about that he grew worried and
slowly crawled out of bed and was immediately hit by the
soreness that covered his entire body, but he could feel it fading
little by little, so he tried to push through the pain and find out
where he was. He walked to the door and slid it open and
walked down the hallway. He noticed the hallway was also done
in a traditional style with a few tiny tables pressed against the
back wall of the hallway on the opposite side to where the doors
to various rooms were. He noticed on the tables were a few
picture frames and bowls with some incense that had burnt out.
The two photos were very old, the first in black and white and
the second one in He saw two men laughing with their arms
around each other in one photo, and they looked like brothers
because of how much they looked like each other. The second
photo was much newer but still too old to be new. It was of what
looked like three kind of old men, maybe their early fifties,
thanking a young man, maybe in his mid-twenties, with spiky
blond hair in a long white robe. He looked happy and was
shaking the one in the middles hand in front of a building he had
seen before, some strange old building that had always
interested him, but his parents had told him stay away from it,
so he did. Patrick just walked past the picture, not really too
interested in the pictures but the house that surrounded them.
The hallway ended and spit him into a kitchen/living room area
where he saw an old women cooking in front of a stove. He
walked up to her but she heard him before he said anything and
spun around quickly with a worried look in her eyes. “Oh my,
child, what are you doing out of bed?!” she rushed up to him,
trying to see if he was ok. Patrick was very confused as to where
he was, who this woman was, and why she was so concerned
about his health. “Where am I?” asked Patrick. “Oh child, I’m so
sorry that this happened to you, but don’t worry, it won’t last
long.” “What won’t” asked Patrick, getting annoyed that he was
getting no answers and even more questions. “Oh, well, my
husband will explain everything to you when he returns, for now
just have some breakfast.” He agreed mostly because he was
hungry so he put his questions on hold for little bit. They had a
quiet breakfast of buns and fish. For some weird reason he was
really craving fish. After he finished breakfast he asked where he
was. “Well, this is a bit hard to explain but...” she was cut off by
the door opening and an old man came into the room. “Well,
hello Patrick, how are you feeling.” He seemed sad and for some
reason he was staring at Patrick with some strange look in his
eyes. It was like sadness but deeper, regret? “Where am I,
where are my parents?” the question hit the old man like
lightning. He told Patrick to sit down on the chair and sat
opposite him. “Ok Patrick, you know how almost all the
members of your clan are ninja right?” said the old man. “Yes.”
said Patrick a little confused. “Well, this is where you will start
your training, and you have a special, uh, gift inside of you that
we will use to save the village.” He almost had to force the
word ‘gift’ out but Patrick was too distracted by the idea of
saving his village to really notice. “Save the village! But how, I’m
not strong?” “Exactly, that is why we will train you, to control
the great power you have.” said the old man. “Ok, but when do I
get to see my parents again.” The old man’s eyes dropped and
didn’t say anything for a minute. “Well, until you can learn to
control the great power you have, you can’t see them or else
you might accidently hurt them.” Patrick was speechless. He had
never hurt anyone before, but now for some reason he wakes up
in some strange home, meets some old people he didn’t know
and now they tell him that he could hurt people if he got near
them!? He was too confused to think strait. “What do you mean
I will hurt them? How could I hurt them, I don’t even know basic
jutsu yet?” “Yes, but the raw power you have inside of you could
seep out and harm the ones you love if you got you let your
guard down.” Said the old man “But don’t worry, we will use
your power to restore the village to what it once was and
everyone will be happy again, ok.” Patrick barely understood
what was happening but if he did what this old man said, would
it really help his village get better? He went with what the old
man was saying and agreed to his training. “I promise you once
this war is over, everything will be as it once was, ok
Patrick.” “Ok, I trust you… what is your name?” “My name is not
important, but what is important is that we teach you how to
control your power. Just call me sensei.” said the old man. “Oh...
ok then, sensei.” They trained every day for 6 months and the
village was used to rationing their food and getting organized so
that the survivors would have a village to return to when the war
was over. This new surge of faith was powered by the elders
saying they had a new weapon up their sleeves that was
powerful enough to obliterate the entire land of iron. And then
the day came when the land of iron confronted the land of
blizzards at the border. Each side ready to put all they had on
the line for their nation. However the battle seemed fairly one
sided, as the land of iron’s samurai outnumbered the ninja at
least 3to 1, their armor was better as was their weaponry. The
battle had yet to signal so both sides stood on their respective
territory until the signal to fight had been fired. Just before the
battle started however, the blizzard’s army suddenly split down
the middle allowing for something to come through. It was a
convoy of soldiers surrounding something. The samurai thought
it might be some sort of weapon or explosive, but when the
soldiers parted, there stood a small child. The child walked
forward, his head down and stopped about five feet in front of
his army. The some samurai started laughing while some
couldn’t believe that the ice could send a child to the front line.
But some were smarter and wondered what the trick behind this
was. The soon learned as clouds suddenly created a dark
overcast over their heads and the child started glowing. All of a
sudden he started growing and changing shape! His hands
turned into paws with sharp claws, his whole body lurched
forward was he could no longer stand on two legs as his back
legs transformed and became sleek and powerful. His face
began to grow whiskers, his ears disappeared and reappeared
on top of his head, and his mouth grew giant fangs and sharp
teeth, teeth meant to kill. He was the size of small building by
the time he had stopped growing and was in the shape of a giant
cat with two giant fangs sticking out from his mouth. He was
glowing a faint blue except for the dark red of his eyes. His fur
was thick and coated in frost. He had turned into the Hyōko, The
Ice Tiger.
Hyōko growled loudly as he shifted his stance to get ready to p
ounce. Then he let out an ear-splitting roar and charged toward
the enemy.
They were so shocked that they that didn’t react, not
that they would have had time to, as the giant cat descended
upon them and swept a whole squad away with his paw. That
snapped them back to reality has the beast continued to tear
apart their army. They stood no chance as every attack they
used against the monster just bounced off of him; however it did
somehow make him look even angrier. The battle was over in 25
minutes, the score being the entire iron army being nothing but
blood on the snow. Hyōko however was far from over; he was in
a frenzy of anger and bloodlust. The cheering ice ninja never
even noticed until it was too late and the beast swung its giant
paw at them, hitting a few, but most were able to either dodge
or melt into the snow. He was rampaging and attacking anything
that moved. He was attacking everyone and going in the
direction of the village. Just before he made it to the entrance,
the 3 elders were standing their chanting and making hand
signs. Hyōko slowed down his attack and was acting more
sluggish. He was shrinking and turning back into Patrick. Patrick
woke up wondering what had happened, and then he looked
down at his hands. They were coated in blood, and so were
other parts of his body, but mostly his hands. He was worried he
had hurt himself but felt no pain. He then looked around and
saw all the dead bodies scattered across the tundra, the snow
soaked red with blood from the giant slash marks down each
ninja, and they all had 3 parallel cuts, every one. He was sure he
was the one who had caused this tragedy, which meant the
blood on his hands was… He just sat there, staring at his hands
dripping with fresh blood. He threw up and passed out. He woke
up in the same room he had woken up in all that time ago. Then
he remembered what had happened and he quickly sat up in a
cold sweat. He stared at his shaking hands for a good amount of
time before he heard a knock on the door. “Patrick, get dressed,
we need to talk.” he had never heard this voice before but it
sounded familiar. So he got dressed quickly without thinking
about it and shuffled into the living room. Besides sensei, there
were also two other, equally old men with him. “Hello, Patrick.”
Said the oldest looking one “My name is Leader.” “Hello.” Patrick
said avoiding eye contact, knowing he was going to be seriously
punished for what he did. “Patrick, we need to talk about what
happened on the battlefield-” “I TOLD YOU I WASN’T READY!”
Everyone was surprised by Patrick’s outburst, especially Patrick,
but he kept going. “I TOLD YOU THAT STUPID THING WAS
ALWAYS ANGRY, YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT HE WOULD
GO CRAZY!!” tears were streaming down his reddened
face. “Patrick calm down,” “NO, YOU USED ME, YOU MADE ME
DO THAT, YOU MADE ME TURN INTO HIM, YOU MADE ME KILL
THO-” that was all he got out before the leader hit him hard
across the face, making him fall down. “Calm down Patrick!” He
knew that he probably deserved it, but for some reason, getting
hit by this guy made him even angrier, but he kept it contained…
barely. “We don’t blame you.” ‘What,’ thought Patrick, ‘they
don’t blame me for what happened?’ He was very confused now;
they were sending mixed messages as to what they meant. The
fat one had a scowl on his face that was clearly meant for him,
sensei looked sorry for me like he usually did, but this third one,
he just seemed indifferent to the whole thing. “Tell us why the
beast was so angry.” Patrick had been trying to dodge this
question for a long time, being the human host to it did give him
a connection to Hyōko, so he did know what was causing his
rage, but he had just hoped it was his imagination. “Well?” said
Leader. “Y-Yes sorry, I-I think what is making Hyōko so angry is-
is umm, well…” “SPIT IT OUT!!” Patrick almost had a heart
attack from the sudden loud yell from the old man. “IT WAS
THEM!, THEY MAKE HIM ANGRY, THEY MAKE HIM GO INTO A
RAGE!” shouted back Patrick. “Who are they?” said the old man
with distain thick in his tone “The other ones in my head.” This
made the elders stop for a second. “What others?” asked
sensei. “The other two monsters that live inside of me.”
‘Brother, when do we get to have fun?’
‘Soon, brother, soon we get to have lots of fun’
‘Do we get to kill people again brother?’
‘Yes, as soon as the boy weakens, we will have his body all for ourselves.’
Next time we start on the actual story and we finally get to see
why this is Naruto fanfic when I actually introduce the freaking
characters! So yeah critique is very much appreciated and the
next one will hopefully be better.
