Yeah, some of the 'artistic nudes' on this site should not be on here. I have done life drawing twice and not once was the nude in a provocative pose. So in my opinion it really depends on the pose and how modest the individual is.

Methinks a blank canvas can be a work of art too.
Look at graffiti. People spray it on buildings and walls and all sorts of things, yet these things in themselves are works of art too.
I remember when I was still starting out in Tae Kwon Do, my masters talked about how a black belt was supposed to bring his WHITE BELT in with him every time he entered the dojang, or be striped of his belt rank. They said it was because the white belt signified purity and innocence, and in the old days, a white belt would grow black through all of the blood, sweat, and tears people put into it.
So in my opinion, yes, something CAN exist within nothing. Because nothing IS something.
People just don't notice it. It's within our own nature to search for something MORE than nothing.
It's why people practice art to the point where they get millions of pageviews on DA where the rest of us get less than 100, or create sculptures that people will buy for TRILLIONS of dollars when other works won't even get a CENT.
But we always have to remember that we all started with many a canvas, most of them scrapped and forgotten because of our horrible artistic skills at the time.
We all started somewhere.
And it started with what was seemingly nothing, but in fact turned out to be SOMETHING. Something we could use as a canvas, or a mold, or a part, or whatever we decided to use it for. And even though it may have been a terrible idea at first, we created ART.
It doesn't matter what other people find in it's value. What matters is how much value it is to US.
If we can find value in NOTHING, then we can find value in EVERYTHING.
So maybe whenever we see a blank deviation of a certain color, such as white, then maybe, just maybe, the artist is searching for those who find the value in everything.
I am one of those people. Are you?
