Author’s note: this page will describe the MTM-X’s propulsion modes.

While MTM-X is a mecha,that means that bipedal walking locomotion is a primary method of getting around the location.The mech also incorporates another propulsion modes,and isn’t limited only to land.

Walking and running:

Not much to say there,walking-is the basic way of propulsion for the mech.In this mode the mech has excellent passability,can traverse almost every terrain.But the drawback is relatively low speed of such propulsion on a plain terrain.The mech can also run like a human,covering distances faster,but spending more energy for that.

Jumping:

The mech can also jump,to quickly cross some distance in desired direction.For this purpose the mech’s thighs house two small jet engines.The mech can jump either with or without using them.Using these jet engines allows to jump on longer distances,and even make wild moves in the air.

Road mode:

The walking and running modes are good for moving on a rough terrain,but they loose their advantages when the mech gets to the plain terrain.For fast propulsion on roads,or another plain surface the mech is equipped with wheels on its knees and ankles.When going to the road mode the mech simply stands on it’s knees,so all four wheels make contact with the ground.and folds its feets under the thighs.   In this modes the mech can reach high speeds on a plain terrain,and cover large distances on roads much faster than it was trying to reach the same distance in walking mode.

Flight mode:

The land isn’t the only environment MTM-X can operate in.Whenever necessary  the vehicle may easily enter the flight mode to take the air. The mech’s chasis houses a couple of folding wings,and a set of four jet engines.When entering the flight mode,the mech unfolds its wings while jumping into the air with its thigh thrusters,activates its, rear jet thrusters,and starts flying like a plane.In order to land the mech either simply bends its legs like in the road modes and lands like a normal plane,or it places its legs that way,so the thigh thrusters will face the ground under 90 degree angle,and lands like a VTOL. Or simply,disables its  rear thrusters and uses it’s thigh thrusters while in the free-fall to slow down.
