OK, this shot has been sitting on my computer for a day now, just waiting for me to put my finger on what it is exactly I love so much about it. So far I've come up with this...Wow.
Man, this has to be one of my favourite photos. I love the candid nature, combined with huge scale event that must've just happened.
It reminds me of those moments just as big things happen. When you know you're gonna loook back at that moment and remember it, then you realise that you've just wasted part of that moment with that thought.
Maybe I get too much from it, but I do.

the thumb of the shot drew me in, the composition even in miniature is so excellent... and then i get in, and you pose this open-ended narative, once upon a time... what??
the photo itself raises more questions than it answers, almost feels creative, like one of those assignments... here is the photo, now write what happened because while i'm facinated at what *did* happen... i also like all the storylines... all the maybes, real and fantastical... building in my head.
tsk tsk tsk. you wanted to make us think, didn't you?

this shot is great. what happened here by the way? thats not smoke from a fire is it? and try and rid the right side of that line that goes down. looks odd there.

Love the sepia tones, really highlights the situation (whatever it is, I'm so curious, please tell me). The lines and depth lead us right to the smoke/explosion? I like the bit of tree on the left, hanging over, taking a peek at the scene.
