I found a beautiful quote on Pinterest (with no author) saying "Each time you open a book, a tree smiles knowing that there is life after death". I wanted to create a scene where the tree and a person are enjoying a story together.
I created this over my three day weekend when I finished all my grad school homework. It was a quick painting, mostly because I didn't want to paint the tree bark!
