Description
This design won 4th place in `duhcoolies ' CSS Journal Contest in November 2006. My gratitude to all the judges! Please note: I have had a lot of requests for this journal CSS to be released. It was coded by me for *Wicked-LandScapes , who currently owns it. In the future, it may be released to the public.
Keeping with sights that are familiar, this basic Media Player remix in dA colours plus a CSS menu at the top shall make things a little more fancy.
The user interface panels describe traditional dA journal items, such as friends and stamps, but in a more unique way. Rip stamps, anyone?
V1.1 2006-11-03 Better panel buttons and moved journal title into the main content pane. The title bar is now a little empty, but can still contain some corny text like 'Windows Journal Player' or just your username.

I just LOVE this entry! The first thing I thought was how much i'd love something like this for my Firefox theme. It'd look fantastic in a journal. The color scheme is perfect and look great next to dA's original colors. I wouldn't distract from the page's layout or the artist's work. I'm a huge fan of the green dA button at the bottom. Well done and congrats!

Many thanks.
There are Windows Vista themes for Windows and for Firefox... so you can live the dream.

I'm no fan of WMP, but as a journalskin I imagine it to look slick. Congrats on 4th place!

Indeed. I preferred the WMP10 look... I mean, I don't like WMP at all!
Yes, it does look better without the bells and whistles. Thank-you.

Actually, I don't remember what WMP10 looked like. Or WMP9.. I remember the one that they call now mplayer2.exe

WMP2 rocks... I still use it! I use it because it can loop sound samples without any delay, unlike Windows Bloated Player.

Yes, that's exactly why I use it too - for looping short soundfiles

No problem.
Well It looks like the work paid off.
It's so cleanly and smoothly done, the tones and shines really make the glassy effects stand out nicely.
I love the icons you created, very nice work.
I hope you get a prize Definitely one of the best I've seen so far

Oh wow! That is one sexy journal skin... has dA enabled menus yet?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
BoffinBrain In reply to actionthisday [2006-10-28 10:55:45 +0000 UTC]
You simply code your own menus using the CSS Hover statement to show and hide the menus. Internet Explorer 6 is useless and does not support this feature, but all the other decent browsers do.
