Description
A multitude of experiences and mental practices has really nurtured my mind to work in ways that has led me to some profound epiphanies. These experience have felt like taking a bite of a forbidden fruit. It has helped me to feel more and to better process everything that I carry within my psyche. It has made me realize just how painfully aware I am of my own mortality. In other ways it has helped to me alleviate some of the heaviness that I’ve inherited through my upbringing. The most beautiful part about self awareness is not that any of what I’ve experienced goes away or that my neurosis are healed fully, but that in the moments when I get triggered by something, I can see the whole web of actions and reactions clearly and can communicate it to others clearly, as well as what I need in that moment to let me nervous system calm down. I can see how my whole body and mind responds to something that is similar to what I have experienced in the past and be able to separate the present from the past. Observing one’s self in such way is a really helpful way to show up better for others and myself. Recently I had a really fascinating moment when something triggered me and even though I was aware that it come from the past, my body was still having a reaction that felt like my whole nervous was hijacked and despite my awareness it took some time to just calm the system. It was a really fascinating experience.
