The box was not postmarked; there was no return address. Against her better judgement, Courtney opened the box to examine its contents. Inside was a large furred 'monster' mask with equally large furry 'monster gloves'. "It's not Halloween" she exclaimed, puzzled at what she found. But still... it would make for a good costume someday...

She put the mask and gloves on. They fit snuggly... a little too snuggly....

A tingly, burning sensation rode quickly through her body. What followed was indescribable pain as the bones of her skull and muscle tissue began to distort and enlarge. The same was happening to her hands and forearms. The 'skin' of the mask and gloves became taut. They began to lose their latex rubbery appearance and become leathery, hairy flesh. The furred mane and thick hair shifted and welded itself into her skull and forearm. The air filled with an animal stink, that rose from her pores.

Courtney's mind was being overwhelmed by pain which slowly gave way to pleasure. She felt strength in those 'monster hands'... her hands... now with a strength multiplied to an incredible degree. Strength to bend steel, paws strong enough to rend flesh.... and a hunger to match.

The bestial thing that had been a woman lolled out its big thick tongue along its strong sharp canines and mandibles. She spread wide her large powerful mouth, her bone crushing jaw muscles pulling it open into a horrible, hungry grin.

Her laughter rumbled from a deep, dark place within. "And to think... I was AFRAID!", she roared as she raised her big hands as if to claw at the Gods above. "FREE... FRRRREEEE!" she howled, her mind now twisted, animal, fully embracing the horror of what she'd become.

Monster Head. Monster Hands. Monster Armor.

"Monster Armor" was a line of toys based on the "X-Men" cartoons that came out in the '90s. I have a figure of Rogue and Mystique whom this drawing was based on. Basically, it came with the above "Monster Head" and "Monster Hands" that you were supposed to slip on. The little story on the back of package described how Rouge had been changed into a Monster, and now Mystique had to transform herself in order to fight/save her 'daughter' (Has all that been retconned?) I think she may have been referred to as 'daughter' to avoid the faux-lesbianism of the comics. Anyone else have these figures? Maybe I'll upload a picture later.
