LOL, I was just thinking to myself today that I haven't gotten one in a little while. It's a nice surprise on a big day: told my boss I'm quitting from Jan 1st. I'm going to pursue photography full time.

what type of lens where you using to get this kind of shot? (i know a bit about photography in general but not so much about lenses) 
i love your photos by the way, tokyo is such a beautiful city and you capture it really well

I use an ultrawide lens. In this case it's a Nikon 14-24mm set to it's widest at 14mm. This gives a very wide field of view and introduces lots of perspective distortion which gives the photo that super deep feeling.
