Description
Wait, wait, let me explain.See, a couple of years ago, I was struck by the quantity of Disney Princess-based artwork on DA, and I thought to myself I'd try and hop on the bandwagon and attempt something similar. However, my idea kind of blossomed (?) into a terrifying concept: what if I came up with an idea for a cartoon; teen versions of the princesses gathered from space and time to attend a modern-day prep school for princesses? Princess Prep? What you see is the result.
Clearly, I was right to go back to drawing motorcycles and vampires.

From what I hear, sometimes you gotta swallow your pride and do horrifying things to get work. Besides, you might get yourself some new watchers outta this.

lol I personally think its a interesting idea for a cartoon series and you wanna bet Disney would love it, they arn't very good at coming up with cartoon series anymore lol. I like though, exspeically Mulan, such a tom boy!

Hey, thank you!
The tricky bit was trying to get their hair right. I'm glad you dig the thought!

That is just so awesome! I like how you just "morphed" they're usual clothing. Great work!

Ha! I'm not going to make fun of you. Don't die of shock!
It's cute. I did a double take when I saw it on my watch list, and then saw it was yours. But it's cute! They're pretty good modern interpretations of the costumes. I love how Jasmine has basically NO changes, just flared pants instead of poofy ones, and it still totally works.
Sleeping Beauty's corset would work better as a little tuxedo vest, though. Like the ones they sold at Urban Outfitters, and everywhere else in the known universe last year. Just my design two cents.

I'm... I'm not going to die of shock. *my poor, poor heart*
Yeah, I also liked how Jasmine's still pretty much in her regular gear and STILL looks like a hooch in comparison to the other girls.

I think I recognize most of them:
From left to right,
1) Belle.
2) Sleeping Beauty?
3) Snowwhite?
4) Mulan?
5) ?????
6) Jasmine.
Anyway, you forgot Ariel.

It's meant to be Cinderella.
I didn't forget Ariel, believe it or not! The conceit of this idea is that they are learning how to be princesses - I couldn't figure out a way to give Ariel legs before the events of her story. I figured there could be an episode where they babysit her, sticking her in a bathtub, etc.
Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Well, in my humble opinion, seeing the rather obvious non-canonity of this piece and all, you could have given Ariel legs without any need for an explanation. Just saying.

I did indeed. It was a blast to try something so different and simple. Plus, I got to research some great Disney artists, like Mary Blair.
Good times.
