Today Is The Day!" Said the King to the Queen
"It's time to get ready; I'm ever so keen
to go see the folks who live down in the town,
I suspect their excitement continues year round.
From the day that they hear I'll be coming along
to the day I arrive, now what could go wrong?"
So he walks to the room were his servants are waiting
Where they will all give his appearance a rating
"A Ten for the Smile, the Charm and the Looks!
Why that is a face that you'll see in the Books!"
So with even more pride he walks down to the yard,
where a carriage is waiting, along with the bard.
They all jump right on in and head off to the city
"My speech is so great! I'm ever so witty!"
They arrive in the town, the announcer gets out
to make his announcement, of that there's no doubt.
He blows in his horn to attract some attention
"The king has arrived, I feel I should mention!"
The king finally steps out, in a confident way.
The folks give him one look and get on with their day.
