That is very pretty Does the Milky way not streak like the stars? I'm not sure if this is a dumb question or not? Confused haha!

Thank you Yes it does but only if the camera can see it [link]

I couldn't find a specific answer from there... but I am guessing you take one of the Milky Way (tracking it with a telescope maybe) and then a fixed one with the stars that have trails, and then composite them together

No the specific answer is not there but if you went through and read all the resources that I linked, got on all the forums, and practiced for countless hours like I have, then you do learn a thing or two about how to do things like this. I'm sorry but I am never going to say on here how I did this shot as I have even better ones planned and I won't reveal all my knowledge that I have spent lots of time and money acquiring (I state that quite clearly in the journal. That's the main reason I sent you to it), but I will say this. NO tracking mount was used at all. Where there is a will there is a way. Practice, practice, practice.

I am never going to have equipment to even get close to trying out this kind of photography, I just have an appreciation for it and a curious mind about how it works. OK no worries, goodluck for your future photos, I look forward to seeing them

Hah, he probably merged two versions, the one with trails and the one without. But still... I don't know how he made the Milky Way is not blurred, cause overall effect should be great blur.

you sound about right I think. Maybe he used a telescope that tracked the Milky Way so that the camera moved with it so that it didn't blur

Now that's something different! And awesomely executed. Cool to see both trails and a still Milky Way in one shot, great work as always!
