well, ha, both.
the irony in that they're so unlike makes an added humor -- serious vs. semi-silly.

the first part; just, well, i love because i do. how can you explain that one?
and the second half i just wanna scream amen as a "that's not as silly as it sounds! heed the advice!!"

i love both quotes, i couldn't part with the first one, so i put both in my sig!
the first one is actually from a play called "The Miracle Worker" [a little dead seven year old in a character's hallucinations repeats that line] and the second one.. exactly what you said! it's silly, but it's not.
