Tawnyspots was Darkstripe's father, but by the time he died I don't think Darkstripe was born. So it's possible he grew up without a father (like Tigerstar) and they were both given an evil mentor so basically Pinestar and Tawnyspots weren't there for their sons and both sons turned evil.
