Swans are, primarily, viewed as symbols of grace, beauty, and love. Such concepts flee the viewer's mind upon encountering the miasma twisted renditions that nest and hunt near bodies of water touched by the corruption. Before even locating the creatures themselves, the number of bones and other rancid remains of their carniverous diet begins to increase the closer one gets to the body of water, namely the creatures' nesting ground. Similar to non-mutated swans, these creatures also seem to form pair bonds and maintain a territory together that appears to consist of a body of water that also hosts their nesting ground.

When a group of mercenaries began to approach the nesting ground, one of the mutated swans began to extend its immense wings and hiss at the men. A long tongue was flicked out like a snake's, though it is unknown if this was out of a further intimidation display or to scent the air like a serpent. The size of these creatures has become impressed with the mutations, as with its neck fully extended seems to have been taller than the men, all of whom were of average height. Indeed, the creature was fully capable of lunging with its sharp, fang-filled beak for the eyes of the men closest to it, along with utilizing the bone that has developed at the base of the beak. This horn is formed out of hollow bone. Though sharp, and capable of piercing through leather armor, the two specimens encountered both had their horns broken by the mercenaries' heavy weaponry. A second pair of legs has also formed from the swan's body, functioning as sort of short arms and hands, though the creatures were not seen grasping materials outside of clawing at the mercenaries while attacking them.
