Description

The region of Uppland was the heart of Sweden from the Viking Age to the Late Medieval Era. Uppland was further divided into four subregions known as 'Folkland': Tiundaland, Attundaland, Fjädrundaland and Roden. Chief among them was Tiundaland where the Archbishopal and royal seats rested in the capital of Old Uppsala. It was near Uppsala that the Swedish kings were elected near the ritualistic Stones of Mora, and from there the freshly crowned Kings traveled all over the Swedish kingdom from Uppland to Västermanland, the land of the East and West Geats and Södermanland to make sure all the nations of the Kingdom swore fealty and admited their Kingship.
