Description This is my entry to Game Artisans latest contest. The goal was to redesign any character from the Wizard of Oz universe.

Now I have to confess in not staying true to the original scarecrow(ie stupid and lovable). The primary reason for this is that I've wanted to do a crazy scarecrow type character for awhile now, so I compromised, I made a slightly cartoony scarecrow with a psychotic mentality.

Did this as a hand painted texture practice, still not liking my style, plan on making major changes to my next attempt.

Lemme know what I should do next, and of course what you think of the model Thanks all

Ooh - I actually quite like this, a slightly evil take on a loving character. But what made him turn?

I love the red shoulder belt touch - it adds a great splash of colour amongst the natural shades.

In addition, if he was animated, how would he move? Have you seen the Turnip-Head character from Howl's Moving Castle?

Thanks very much I havent seen that movie but I know my girlfriend has it so I may have to look into it, does he move really cool or something?

He just bounds really high, its quite a delicate movement but it might inspire you to think about how this one moves, and if you can adapt it to look a little more evil. The character in Howl's is friendly, but initially the viewer is naturally quite wary of him as he doesn't have expression so you don't know if he's evil or not. So, in that sense, the way it moves could be useful to you =]

Looks amazing, if you do another one, my only suggestion would maybe do more with the face. Otherwise, its awesome
