"While recovering the sub from the previous mission, I spotted a strange fish. I'm no biologist, but it didn't look normal. Large chunks of flesh, organs exposed or missing. The dorsal fins have changed into large blades. It was tearing apart a normal-looking fish. I have never seen anything like it. A new species, or a mutation?

This odd mass was recovered from the side of the sub. It is clearly organic. It reminds me of a tumor or cancerous growth.
I have no doubt the two are connected."
