This picture is in tribute to my purple marker, which sadly went to that big Tria box in the sky during the making of it. RIP, purple marker.

This is an odd picture because I wasn't actually depressed at the time. In fact, I was in a rather good mood. I blame the Tim-Burton-ish effects on the deadly combination of listening to Blue October and looking at the art of Julie Rocheleau at the same time.

Artistic note: This is my first time experimenting with the combination of my beloved tria markers and overlaying pencil for shading techniques. It's really quite satisfying, you'll probably see more of it in the future. I'm sad that my sexy new scanner didn't quite come through for me on this one, tho...the graphite doesn't look quite so rough on the original (IMHO). Shmeh, I still love it lots.

'Nother note: Please don't nitpick on the lack of markering in various places (like the bottom right side). This isn't the whole pic, just a cropped piece.
