Description
Nami and Sanji from the manga and anime series "One Piece" by Eiichiro Oda, drawn in my personal style 2003.One Piece and the characters Nami and Sanji are (c) Eiichiro Oda /Shueisha
Huuw, that´s a bit older art. And today - that´s typical- I see many flaws I couldn´t see during the process of making. Especially Namis body...sigh. Well, but I still think the pic has `something´, and so I still dare to upload it.
Odas drawing style is in my opinion v-e-r-y typical shonen-manga. It tickled me to "transform" some of his characters into shojo style, and this here was the result. It´s my personal shojo style from 2003.
I don´t think smoking is cool; the cigarette is just one of the characteristic properties ( right expression?) from Sanji, so I added it.
So far I´m not a One Piece fan. I watched some of the first TV episodes aired in Germany, but the stuff couldn´t get me. Recently I had the chance to read manga volume one - while writing this, the book lies even next to me. The manga convinced me a bit (!) more, but I especially dislike how the violence is presented. It´s a longer story and not so easy to express in my not-native language English - ask, if you want to read it. I also checked probably so much shonen more-or-less mainstream ( Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin, Conan, two seasons of Digimon...), that I´m now harder to convince about series with the typical shonen elements. Does this sentence make sense to you?
But if I get the chance to read vol 2, I won´t let it pass by -´cause I still think the story *could* develop into a direction more for my taste. Well, wait and see.
