Description

I don't usually do tutorials, but I found this fire with its layers still existing that I had done maybe over a year ago and thought why not to make a tutorial out of it. x) Hope it helps someone.

Throughout my life, I have only used this one fire tutorial. Every time, I would just come back and this would help immensely.Β
This is really great. Thank you.

In Medi|Bang Paint Pro, the layer thing does not have the Luminosity mode...
What am I going to use as a layer mode now?

I have a question: why Luminosity mode turns the color white and not yellow?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheShadowedGrim In reply to HectorAdame [2016-07-11 19:24:02 +0000 UTC]

Your density/opacity of it is probably too high I'm guessing.

HectorAdame In reply to TheShadowedGrim [2016-07-11 21:34:02 +0000 UTC]

Ok, I'll see if lowering the opacity of the layer works. Thanks.

I have been frequently using this tutorial and I love it. Thank you so very much for making it. I always love how the flames come out. Here is an example of where I used itΒ www.weasyl.com/submission/1181…

What if I want to make different colours of flames?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ZolaDeus In reply to stormelement [2016-01-10 14:39:47 +0000 UTC]

still works. First time I used this tutorial I did blue and green flames. It just depends on what color you want to be your base and what color you want to use for highlighting. Either way you still use white, because it shows off the heat. Hope this helped.Β

Can you explain step 2 further? I'm not able to use the eraser to make the edges look like that. It just ends up looking like eraser marks and blotches. Like it's just a blob. I'm sorry but this makes no sense to me

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Chiakiro In reply to Jaytham-Firestar [2015-12-12 08:45:12 +0000 UTC]

I can't explain it better than that. Try a lower opacity and you need to move your mouse around a bit instead of just clicking a hole into it. It takes a bit of practice I guess and I don't do it well every time even myself

one question though that you may or may not know the answer to:
what if the program i use doesn't have a luminosity mode...?
could you maybe tell me what it does so i can use a similar mode?

What do you mean by density? Opacity? Flow?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

rebbybear In reply to Amazinglagann [2015-06-24 01:43:13 +0000 UTC]

Density is how hard or soft the brush stroke will appear on-screen. Opacity is how light or dark the brush stroke will be. Not sure about flow.

Chiakiro In reply to Amazinglagann [2015-06-04 17:14:58 +0000 UTC]

The brush's opacity I guess if that makes sense? I'm not sure how it is in other programs than SAI.
