Will it? Will it stop you?
There are going to be more talented artists out there. That's life. But is that going to stop you?
There are many incredible artists here on dA. Does that mean you can't become one yourself?
Some of us come by talent easily. Some of us have to work a little harder to get it than others.
So?
One thing I've learned while being here on dA is that just because an artist is better than me doesn't mean I suck at what I do. It really doesn't. It just means they're more talented in that area.
Is that going to stop me from doing what I LOVE to do?
I love love love to draw.
I don't do it for the views. I don't do it for the favs. I don't do it to keep watchers.
I do it because I LOVE to do it.
Does that mean I should stop just because there a ton more artists that are better than me at drawing?
Heck, no!
Why should that stop me? That should ENCOURAGE me to get better! It seems as if the term "role models" hasn't been used all that recently these days.
So, yeah. Same with all of you out there that write, draw, edit, etc-- are you going to stop doing what you LOVE to do just because someone happens to be better at it?
I hope not!
As one of my favorite characters in the D.Gray-Man manga lives by: "Keep walking. Never stop."
So don't give up, yeah?

I am horribly insecure ._. and even though everyone says I shouldn't be I can't help it. But no matter what I keep with it. I cant help it. My brain wont let me give up lmao. So yes people even good artist are insecure....

I see tons of stamps everyday, but this is one of the few that really speak to the people that are insecure about their drawings! And i have to admit, this stamp gave me a bit more hope for my drawings. =]

true. My main project I'd started writing for fun, and only a year and a half later, after joining DA, did I realise that the style and structure made it perfect for uploading

Art is an expression of the artist.
Recently a guy started criticizing my stuff. Saying how it was ugly, traced, and horribly incorrect.
I ignored him.
Then I drew a picture in my REAL style. The one I didn't configure to the masses. Its horribly inaccurate. Hands are huge, eyes are too big. Body anatomy is completely fudged. Ect. ect.
I don't care.
Not because I couldn't go back and fix it all. I could. Its the fact its perfect the way it is.
Its my expression of myself. I have many odd beliefs and they show in that style. I think the soul is held in the hands and eyes. You can see it and share it. Its also held in the heart. Its up to you how it beats.
So in that style, the large hands and eyes are more or less that reflection.
The anatomy is wrong because no one is perfect. I myself am a slightly twisted, rather disturbingly weird individual.
So the twisted configuration of the body reflects that. The colors are bright and shiny. Lines are bold and thick. They all reflect back to who I am and my statement through art.
Screw what anyone says. That's what art is SUPPOSED to be. A direct link to the artists heart and soul. We draw it with our hands. And we share these pictures to anyone that wishes to see them.
And doing so. We share ourselves. Its dangerous. Its scary sometimes. But thats what being an artist is. Pushing the limits to be yourself and keep working harder.
Never give up on your art. When an artist does that? They give up on themselves.
