Description Handle Wrapping Technique: Level 3 (Double Knot Ribbon)

And here we have the current handle wrapping technique im using so far for my swords. If your well experienced with handle wrapping you should be able to do this very quickly in 10 minutes. Depending on the width of the ribbon you might need 2 metres or 2 and a half metres long. Heres a tip pull as tightly as possible but as center as possible. Whenever you turn the handle around to do the other side grip the sides of the ribbon tightly and let go when the knot is done.

It's a good idea, but I think you should put a disclaimer that the original idea came from ~Hexuas because that is where you learnt the idea from.

looks lovely! have you considered double sided fabric tape or some kind of adhesive to combat the slippage? you'd have to use quite small pieces, but it might be worth it

chioky In reply to TaneKore [2008-11-30 16:24:25 +0000 UTC]

using some adhesive to combat the slippage is cheating, real handle wrapping experts do it without it XD

Aaaaactually... they use small paper wedges and rice glue to hold the crossover knots in place. They keep it from slipping out of place by giving it extra tension.

but... the handle has to be built firstly in a way that it allows the use of paper wedges and rice glue XD
