Still thinking about young Hyden and Milana's doomed relationship.

Despite how shallow it was and how poorly it ended, it was still the deepest relationship Hyden ever had with somebody and the closest he ever managed to being normal. I think that deep down he still misses her--or at least the idea of her--and the alternate life path that she represented.

Unfortunately it took him another 15 years of continued bridge-burning, substance abuse and increasingly degenerate dark magic bullshit before he really realized what he'd lost.
