Description Man, just made it with one day to spare before Christmas And that was after weeks of work and more program crashes than I've had on anything before (seriously, these things are nightmares to make) But neverless, I'm proud to present the second installment of the "Vue it" series not too long after the first (don't think I'm gonna do one every month, I did this since I had no other ideas for a Christmas deviation this year )

Scroll down to zoom in.
Scroll up to zoom out.
Or use Shift or Control keys to do either.
Click and drag to look around.

Still not exactly what I originally envisioned, but with limited time and computer power - beggars can't be choosers so I'm gonna call it a day here. Made using Cinema 4D, Vue and Photoshop and output into this format via PanoQTVR, Merry Christmas!

Others in the "Vue it" series:
Vue it - Pine Shrine
Vue it - Approaching Pandora
Vue It - Holiday House
Vue It - Haunted Harvest

Credits:
Normally I prefer to model my own buildings but I didn't have enough time for that (though some are, but not all) Some models were free from here , here and here I modelled the snow on them and did all the texturing though.
Also, I had help from thd777 exporting it into the right format for me.

Thanks for the Daily Deviation! To Chukkz (and I know others) who suggested it and Moonbeam13 for featuring it!

This is excellent. This is the first peice of interactive art that I've found on Deviant Art. I hope there's more of it here.

There's a few more around, two of which are mine. But it's generally a rare thing around here, I probably own almost half of them total

OH MY GOODNESS I've nevr seen anything like that on Deviantart, and it's so well made too.

i was going to originally comment though that, after looking through your gallery a bit, I realized I've seen you on Deviantart before :] That tree-dome one you have with the red apples (sorry they might be something else I don't remember) was something I had seen a while back. Guess you have a presence here :] Certainly deserve one.

Your last visit must have been fairly recently since I only uploaded that tree one this week

Glad you liked the rest of my work as well though! Yeah, you won't find many like this one around here. Only a handful of 3D artists here know how to do e'm

I come on Deviantart all the time. Usually for references and things to draw, other times just for fun, cruising around.

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of Christmas. But your artwork, omg is the exception.
It is so wonderful, I love it.
left me totally speechless.

Christmas can be a little too sugary for my tastes too...Lot's of tacky-looking decorations that people half-assedly put all over their house. And Christmas Carols being played in malls But overall it's something I'm still glad exists, even though about a third of them are filled with unnecessary family drama

Thanks for commenting and faving

Alright, I admit. I'm an official fan of your artwork. The sky alone on this one has me rather mesmerized. I'm a sucker for the Aurora Borealis. They are so beautiful, in a mystical sort of way. That aside, the sheer amount of things to see in here, the details, like the snow mane and the spotted bobbles on the tree could keep me fascinated for quite a while. I will be coming back to this deviations whenever I want to feel a bit of peace and winter cheer.

Thanks! The sky was a bit challenging here but it sure does help set the mood and give something worth looking up for

Glad you enjoyed the rest of it too. Might be something to come back to for next Christmas

Thanks for the faves!

SynysterDemonicRose In reply to Chromattix [2012-02-22 08:37:19 +0000 UTC]

I mean...how the hell do you manage to make the colours look so life-like? I tried to make a scenery once, and all it managed to look like was...colours(?)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to SynysterDemonicRose [2012-02-22 08:42:58 +0000 UTC]

I don't know, I've been doing it so long that it comes naturally. I would sayto avoid using "intense" colours - none of the colours I use are at maximum saturation unless they're for lights and effects etc.

GoldenSagittarii In reply to ??? [2012-02-04 18:37:34 +0000 UTC]

Holy...!

Triple awesome how did you do this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to GoldenSagittarii [2012-02-05 06:43:25 +0000 UTC]

This was done using a combination of 3D software, the most important being Vue and a program that allows me to export the rendered 3D scene as an interactive format (provided I rendered it a certain way) A lot of work and more than one program is essential

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GoldenSagittarii In reply to Chromattix [2012-02-05 12:49:23 +0000 UTC]

That means the render you had to build/use was basically a panorama that would cover the whole 360 degrees?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to GoldenSagittarii [2012-02-05 12:57:06 +0000 UTC]

Yep. Unlike most 3D art that involves the person only adding what's ahead of the camera, this one I had to constantly rotate the camera without moving it from its spot to add stuff all around it, and render all of it (which takes my computer a couple of days at least )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GoldenSagittarii In reply to Chromattix [2012-02-05 17:52:55 +0000 UTC]

I was thinking of calling you insane but it`s so awesome i`ll just thank you for the sheer patience and execution

I need to try that in a smaller scale one of these days. Can I ask a rundown of the software you used?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to GoldenSagittarii [2012-02-05 23:40:21 +0000 UTC]

I used Cinema 4D to model some stuff, Vue for the landscape/trees etc and Photoshop for any digital painting or after effects I wanted to add to make the render look more detailed and artistic. Finally - I used a program called PanoQTVR to output it in this format. The way the scene is render is critical though, it must be rendered in one of only a few specific ways or it won't work.
