Description
A commission from one of my friends as a gift for me from a new friend. Funny how that works out, eh? That's right kiddies, it's once more! And he's back with probably the prissiest bitch since Diamond Tiara. May or may not be related to his character Akumumu (Seriously, check him out, you'll learn a lot about Dream Eaters,) we've got Sissi Soular, Dream Eater and bitch extraordinaire. Seriously, most of her character description at the moment is "Prissy bitch who collects souls and noms dreams." I'll update it as she develops, but expect her to stand out significantly from my other characters. Oh yeah, I should get to actual reference stuff, shouldn't I?Name: Sissi Soular (Soul Snatcher)
Age: She'd probably eat you if you asked her, looks around 20 or so.
Species: Dream Eater, prefers a Unicorn pony shape.
Personality: Half-time Canterlot socialite, half-time cosmic horror, full-time bitch. She avoids letting others trust her, and trusts almost no one herself. Despite this, she's addicted to attention, her mood deteriorating pretty quickly if she's ignored. Very rarely alone, generally preferring to be surrounded by others. She absolutely despises being alone, and more than anything hates rejection. Well, perhaps hate isn't the right word. Either way, she tends to isolate herself emotionally while physically surrounding herself with others. She also doesn't have much of a filter, but if you listen closely there's a lot of subtext behind her abrasiveness. Needless to say, she's not the one to do the dirty work when it comes to the more violent aspects of life, instead preferring to stand back and let someone else handle the getting stabbed. She's still a Dream Eater though, and if she snaps running's probably your only option. All in all, a class act bitch who's surprisingly social. Oh, and a horrifying dream monster that literally steals souls and wears them as jewelry/EATS THEM. That too.
Shares the weaknesses of the rest of her race, though often rides somepony's shadow to get around during the day. She is actually quite terrified of thunder and clocks thanks to being a Dream Eater, so she tries to avoid those if at all possible. Those are just fears though, so attempting to slay her with your aunt's grandfather clock is, while entertaining, most likely pointless. Being made of effectively tar, most weapons are incredibly ineffective, though blessed or magical artifacts are still useful in disabling her. One of the only real ways to put her in the ground is death-by-sunlight, but like all Dream Eaters you've got to take her down first, or she'll just slip away. Also, unfortunately for you unicorns, she's naturally resistant to most forms of magic as a creature not quite of the physical plane. I could go into more details, but I'll leave it at "throw that fireball and she'll actually be angry." Magical attacks do hurt her however, unlike a mundane sword would. However, similar to a Lich, she has one weakness that could easily prove her end. As seen below, she removed her own soul from her body, which was turned into a soulgem. If her soulgem is shattered or taken too far from her body, her body will become a lifeless husk and slowly wither away. Thankfully, she's encased the fragile gem in a more durable shell, though you can see a bit of it unconstrained by it's metal shell. You'll have to figure out where it is yourself, she hasn't even told me.
Feeding habits: She searches out dreamers who are in a bad relationship, or have just lost a love, and consumes their dreams. Those who feel the unending agony of rejection and loss. In a way, she helps those who have loved and lost to move on. As for those who busy themselves with crushing hearts and souls, she seeks them out and steals their soul, adding to her hoard of those suffering the pain they caused for others. There they experience the loneliness that only total isolation can provide. So yes, a massive freaking hypocrite.
Abilities: Pretty standard for a Dream Eater, with one major difference. Where most can fish out someone's soul as a soulgem and put it back in the original body, she doesn't have that limitation. Any body, living or dead, is a viable container for a soul in her hooves/melted black marshmallows. As long as the body belonged to a sentient creature, and is capable of sustaining life, she can jam a soulgem into it. Of course, she had to give something up to obtain this ability. In return for her ability, her own soul was removed from her body, and made into jewelry. She can no longer return it to it's original home, and should her body die before her soulgem is destroyed/consumed/forced to move on/somehow implanted in another body she'll be trapped inside it, aware but unable to communicate with the outside world until it is. Besides that, she's quite fond of manipulating or becoming shadows to travel in the day, and is pretty well practiced in transformation thanks to her social nature. Otherwise killing her's about as difficult as you'd expect from a Dream Eater, so if you remove all her organs don't forget steps two through six.
Random information:
Finds soulgems to be incredibly beautiful, which along with an unmentioned incident in her past cause her to wear a necklace of them, and carry around a few extra just in case. Doesn't care what kind of souls either, she's got a small hoard of the things in her home. Don't touch them, she's about as protective of her hoard as a dragon is.
Does NOT get along with most other Dream Eaters. Especially not Akumumu, though only about half the time. They feud a lot, but are willing to work together (with clenched teeth) when the chips are down or it's time to royal screw someone over. They actually have a rather nice backstory, though any assertions that she used to be "cute" will be met with the usual response.
Lives in Canterlot most of the time, finding it easy to not only find prey and food, but also to blend in. She also appreciates the snobbish atmosphere. Prefers to be in cities instead of smaller settlements.
Has an intensely deep respect for Princess Luna, being the one pony she truly respects. Probably the only pony she knows how to be humble around.
Has a mutual hatred with nature: birds attack her, she sets them on fire. Squirrels throw acorns at her, she tosses large rocks. No one knows why, it's not even a Dream Eater thing. Just don't take her on a picnic unless you want there to be a fight between her and the woodland creatures. Considering that includes cockatrices and other large angry beasts, might not be so good for you.
Holds the soul of a 1300 year old pirate captain with a massive vendetta against Princess Celestia named Captain Obsidian, harvested from the stallion it had been possessing at the time. I have no idea what she's going to do with that, but it scares me.
Isn't the most creative with her abilities or the most powerful, preferring to just not be noticed by anyone or persuading something else to fight for her than to do the dirty work herself.
Lives in a studio flat with three University age mares and one stallion. She still ends up paying most of the bills, but they're company. Place is great for parties though. Note, all of them are supernatural creatures of some sort... and NONE of them have realized it yet after over a year of living together.
Seriously, she decorated her room with souls and claims they're receiving their punishment. Literally has them embedded in her ceiling like stars, in her bedframe, and basically most places she could encrust with the bloody things. So seems to have some skill with woodworking, along with a macabre design sense.
More to come as she develops, including an actual personality and maybe even a backstory! HUZZAH!
