Hi, I have a question on this tutorial "Watercolor Tutorial " :

It's about when you color the flowers, in the beggining.

The first yellowish layer is of a constant color. I can do this.

But could you explain how do you shade the tones of the second layer ? Do you apply color and then suck it with the tissue to create a shaded tone ? Or do you apply a little and then push with water ?

I hope you'll notice my question, within those 100 everyday mails ^^.

Thank you !

You use a strong red color and then add water slowly (from blank/constant color place to the strong red) by another brush : ) It's kind of wet on wet ^ ^

Thank you for the answer... but I still don't really understand ^^.

Can you give me some more details please ?

Is it like :
1-you wait until the yellow paper is dry
2-you put some strong red color
3-you put some water everywhere on the flower
4-the color move by its own
or
1-you wait until the yellow paper is dry
2-you put some strong red color
3-you push the red color with a brush with more and more water to make the color less and less strong
or
1-you wait until the yellow paper is dry
2-you put some strong red color
3-you put some water near from the red part
4-you wait until the red color move
5-return to step 3 for x times (and x=?)

Sorry to disturb you again...

In what store do you buy the Double A paper?I can't seem to find anywhere. Also, what size is it?

Claparo-Sans In reply to Know-Emotion [2011-04-17 17:28:16 +0000 UTC]

It's just a normal white photocopy A4 paper, I used to use it for rough sketch (draft). You may use different types, it's fine as long as it's a thin paper ^ ^

For second, and third layers, should we wait for the last coat to dry first? or go ahead while it's wet?
