Elbereth is my favorite of the Valar. The most beautiful, she was responsible for the creation of the stars and was known in Sindarin as the "Queen of the Stars", which I love. I also like that she was never fooled by Melkor. In my depiction I wanted to show her face as radiating light, as Tolkien described her, and to make it seem as if the stars were flowing from her. I used Ava Gardner as my model for her face, and actress I always felt had both beauty and dignity.
