there is this way to give it a realistic effect, (instead of adding the noise, to give it a more realistic effect), to create a new layer, with a photo of old dirty paper (search deviantart), stretch it out, to cover the whole canvas, set the layer to overlay, and lower the fill to around 18%.
it gives a really nice effect. you should try it out
