Description
As you can see Wilt started out in much worse shape than he ended up. Mike Lazzo liked him big and tall so much that he suggested that he keep both his legs. Good call Mike!Related content

Wow, ya, Wilt wouldn't be so well to look at if he had broken teeth and one leg. And a cut off eye. I mean, woah, too much misfortune must've happened to him.

Wilt is one of my favorite characters (my other is Eduardo ). I'm so glad that he ended up the design that he has now. When I see character development sheets like this I always wonder what kind of impact a slight change in the character (any character) would have had on the show. It's always something in the back of my mind.
Anyways, I love this.

Heh, it looks like you knew what sort of elements you wanted to include in his design, you just didn't know quite how to piece them all together. I think the outcome of all that designing looks real good.

those are all really gorgeous.. I especially like the one legged Wilts.. How long did it take you to get what you were looking for in Wilt, or any of the characters?? Seems like you have a lot of development sketches and they're all very different

Aww? Why is he all broken up? I never knew if there was a particular reason for that or not, and I suppose now is a great time to ask!

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said he started out in worse shape. Poor guy. Though I have to say, his optimism despite his beat-up design makes him one of my favorite characters.

Wilt has to be my favourite character from Foster's. And he's got such a great design too. Plus he has nice shoes.

I'm glad you guys kept both legs as I really love the way Wilt walks, and how sometimes only his legs are in the frame. Wilt is my favourite of the Foster's gang It's fun to see the thought process behind these guys

Wilt did go through alot of changes. I do agree with a few people that the yellow one does look a bit like a war veteran. And the one beside the yellow one reminds me a bit of one of the earlier Coco drawings that you posted.

I knew Wilt had to be inspired by Wilt Chamberlain, but until recently I had NO idea Wilt was a member of the Harlem Globetrotters . . . They just recently had a prime-time special which showed off the latest generation team (playing the Washington Generals, 'natch!) on MyNetworkTV, and it was there, while talking with the great Curly Neal -- who's number is being retired on Feb. 15th -- that they mentioned Wilt among some of the notable greats of the Globetrotters of the past.
I have to ask though, why was Wilt's final design given just the one arm? I mean, I know the IF's are different and zany with their looks, but having one arm (looks like it was chopped off!) sort of looks like his creator might have been cruel to him.
Let me close this by saying I love all of your work on both Foster's and PPGs. Thanks for joining our community and sharing your work with us.

You didn't see "Good Wilt Hunting"? Shame on you! You should definitely try to watch it, since it not only explains how Wilt lost his left arm and more or less his left eye, too(he wasn't created that way, nor was his creator cruel to him-he's an amputee), but it's a really poignant story. It's a wonderful little tale of forgiveness and SELF-forgiveness that everyone, even people who aren't into animation or "Foster's", should see.

Kind of hard to watch anything of Fosters -- or CN for that matter -- since I'm on a fixed income and can't afford cable. Being a disabled vet sort of limits your options like that.
But thanks for the heads up on the episode. ^_^

Sorry about that, and it's really bad that you haven't seen "Good Wilt Hunting", since it's really pretty inspirational. I wish I had a DVD to send you so you could see it, but it hasn't been released on DVD yet(hopefully that situation will be rectified eventually). Wilt lost his arm and eye(or the use of his eye, since he's blind on his left side, apparently)while saving the life of his young creator in an act of pure heroism. In spite of his sweet and compassionate nature, Wilt is as tough as they get, character-wise, and he's survived and overcome things that I wouldn't even want to think about going through. I don't feel sorry for him so much as I admire him.
