Now that I've updated my avatar, I guess this version is free for use now.
Uhm, I'm not sure 'bout the name though. Don't know how those thingys are called.

IN CANADA BOTH SPELLINGS ARE ACCEPTABLE BUT THE Z SPELLING IS MORE COMMON OUTSIDE OF FRENCH COMMUNITIES.

...that would be because they would be highly influenced by American English. Most countries that do not have english as their first language learn American english, which I think is not such a great idea since Americans change their spelling to match their pronunciation... then change their pronunciation because they're lazy speakers (tree being said chree, dress said jress, etc) which leads them to change spelling again... english is already hard to learn but changing it all the time makes it harder...

In Canada we use British spelling almost always. Americans make fun of us for it.

Which may be only fair, since as a New Zealand enlgish speaker (NZ English is based of British) I feel free to mock them.

English was invented by... the ENGLISH! (Okay, back then they were the Anglo-Saxons, but... you know what I mean.)
...Americans even dropped the I. And they keep changing spelling to match how they say it... then get lazy and say completely different (which requires more re-spelling).
I had one freind describe his laughter as 'sud dil'. (He meant subtle.) Think about it. Do you say 'tree', or 'chree'? 'Dress' or 'jress'? (They're my favuorite examples because they're so clear.) Apparently they even spell night 'nite' now. What, seriously? Isn't that kid spelling?
