Laat is the agent in charge of the Rosewind Retrieval junior class. He tells them what worlds they need to explore, and reports back to headquarters for them. Retrieval class go to other worlds to rescue people.They are similar to the enforcer class who actually fight off monsters. Unfortunately retrieval class can’t always wait for the enforcers to show up on time, so they must learn to fight to survive.

Laat is a magic fox who has the ability to create magic fox hole portals into any dimension. He is often mistaken for a familiar, as many of the worlds they travel to have magic. He is considered a Beastkin. As his kind are immortal like Demonkin and have been around just as long. They are creatures who can transform into a humanoid form using a unique magical ability. Beastkin are many different species, and include unicorns and dragons.

Laat isn’t a pet or familiar. It’s important to make the distinction, because he’s worked hard to be where he is in the organization. Humans constantly underestimate him. He’s pretty grumpy most of the time, but has a soft spot for Lola who can be quite naive at times.
