"GAHH!!"

She raised herself up. Body nearly trembling from being awakened by another nightmare. And it's the same one... The night where she was trying to protect Paloma from the massive Beast that relentlessly persued them. Despite it being the same dream, the interpretations keep getting bizarre every time she has it. Leaving the grey female filled with more fear. Not a single day would go by where she didn't dread to think of what would happen if it returned out of hellbent...

"Fuck... I'm getting tired of this shit" she whispered. Thankfully she didn't wake up her child whom was sleeping next to her along with her Coatala when she was startled.

She placed her claw against her forehead pushing away some of her hair strands. "It's not getting any better... These nightmares... They're just-"

She paused when her ears picked up the sound of tiny pebbles tapping against the window. "The hell...?"
The throwing of the pebbles began to cease shortly. Rin was becoming suspicious. Someone is definitely out there...

Without waking up Feliciana and Rodimus, she stood up with her body lowered to the floor slowly crawling her way to the window.
A dark figure spontaneously poked its head up to get a glance at Rin. Its eyes briefly illuminated an orange-red color as soon as it spotted Rin, despite the 'Gro was trying to avoid being seen in the first place.
Rin was taken-aback when the figure saw her. However, it looked unusually familiar... Then it clicked. "Wait a minute. Is that-"

The figure quickly took off. Albeit, leaving something behind.
"Hey, wait!!" She immediately sprinted out of the room and outside of the cabin to try to see if it was who she think it was. But alas, she was too late to catch them. "Damn it!!" she angrily stomped her feet on the ground.
She sighed exasperatedly. "Son of a...!! Ugh!!! God fucking damn it!! That had to be her that time! I just know it!"

Rin continued to swear out of frustration until it was all out of her system. Once she was done, she eased her mind and took a deep breath.
"This is no time to be throwing a childish fit, Rin... But why did she take off? She clearly wanted something if she had to come out this late at night..."

It didn't make any sense as to why the figure whom she is familiar with acted as if they were in a hurry to leave as soon as Rin spotted them.

The grey female walked back over to the same spot where saw the figure, but only to peek through the window to make sure she didn't accidentally wake up her daughter and Coatala after she left sprinted out of the room like that.
Before she could even take a look, she felt an object come in to contact underneath her foot. "What the...?" She lowered her head close to the ground to observe what she stepped on. "A mask?" Rin further examined it. "A half of a mask it seems." She pulled on the strap that was surprisingly stretchy. The design of the mask was rather simple.

"Did she leave this behind for me or did she accidentally drop it? If she left it for me to have, it's not as if I have much use for it."

Now that she said that out loud, she felt the scar on the left side of her face that was caused by the Beast. Every time she feels the scars, the image of that Beast pops in to her mind... The thought of it sent chills dancing throughout Rin's body. "Maybe this... could be useful to cover it up."

She places the mask on her face, pushing some parts of her hair out of away and tied the strap.

Rin looks at herself in the window's reflection. Fortunately she saw that her daughter and Rodimus were still sleeping.

A small grin appeared as she admired the mask. "Heh. Not half bad."

The female makes her way back inside the cabin. But her mind was wrapped around the figure who left in a hurry...
But that won't matter until she encounters the figure some other time in person.

Before she stepped inside the cabin she felt the mask where her scar is. The only thing she could feel was the wooden texture of the mask instead of the scar. No thoughts about the Beast that time...
Her head raises up to gaze at the sky where the stars were shining bright.

"To hide behind this mask to prevent the feeling of the terror I felt because of that thing... I can't imagine what would happen if it found me here..."
