Chihiro was only a child. He was tired of being bullied. People were constantly making fun of him for being too girly. There was no end in sight. As he looked to the years ahead, he wondered how he would be able to withstand it all.

Halloween was approaching which gave him an idea. No one would consider him too girly if they thought he actually was a girl. All he had to do was convince his parents to let him do it. They agreed and actually gave him a selection of costumes to see which one he wanted.

With the precision he was known for, he made a short list of costumes that interested him and then slowly eliminated them one at a time until only one remained. The costume he picked was a witch. It had a certain degree of irony to it. If he really was a witch or other magical being, he would be able to stop people making fun of him without hurting them.

The neighborhood children had been invited to a Halloween party before they went trick or treating. Chihiro attended the party too knowing he would quickly find out whether or not his disguise actually worked. He looked over at the kids who bullied him most who were all together. As far as they knew, he was just a girl in the neighborhood they never met.

One of the mothers was offering touch ups to the girls' makeup. Chihiro got in line for it. She applied makeup to his face just like she had for the girls without anyone suspecting anything. As it turned out, the boys and girls at the party formed two separate groups to go trick or treating. Chihiro thought it was great!

Chihiro came as close as he could realistically get to talking to the girls as a girl. No one thought he was too girly. None of the adults answering the doors thought he was too girly either. They gave him candy just like they did for the other children.

Chihiro had a wonderful time. Because things worked out so well, Chihiro considered dressing as a girl full time. Once again, he would need to convince his parents but he had the feeling he would be able to do it.
