Jordan was a young shapeshifter. He was constantly changing his height, weight, gender, race, apparent age and other physical features that were less noticeable. If he had a problem, it was picking a base form that he could use to interact with normal human beings.

The local school was holding auditions for the school play. No one seemed quite right for the female lead. It was a role Jodan knew quite well so he changed his form into something more appropriate for the part. Through the use of magic, everyone would accept her as if she had always been a student there.

Some things still had to be done the old fashioned way. Jordan applied makeup to her face to make herself look more like the other girls. It took practice but no one expected her to be perfect at it. Most girls her age were still learning how to use makeup too.

Makeup was not a problem for her. However, she did have a problem with confidence. No amount of shapeshifting, cosmetics, or spells to get people to accept her would do anything to improve her confidence. She asked an older shapeshifter for advice and she told her she needed to makeup her mind.

At first Jordan did not understand, but after a while she figured out what to do. She needed to apply some touches to her mind to give her confidence just like the makeup she had applied to her face.

Mental changes were both more difficult to do and more dangerous, but this was a form Jordan intended to keep for awhile. If she truly wanted to stay, she needed to condition the mind to accept it.

Jordan imagined herself in front of the mirror with makeup. She mentally applied a foundation, blush, lipstick, eye shadow, and mascara. Afterwards, she looked herself over and made any changes that were needed.

She felt confident! The audition was not going to be a problem for her.
