I sat on my couch, flipping the channels on the television, thinking about Jade. She hadn't been at school today. You'd think since I was her girlfriend, she'd call me and let me know that she was not going to be there today. Everytime a door opened, my heart lept at the possibility that Jade would just stomp into class and sit down next to me. None of the times, the MANY times the door opened, closed or slammed it was Jade.
Just thinking about her not calling me angered me, and so I got off the couch. Pacing around angrilly like an idiot, I finally figured out what I was going to do. I got my Pearphone and dialed her number. It rang a few times until someone answered that was definately not her.
  "Hello?" A guy's voice asked.
"Who...who are you?" I asked him.
"I'm Jade's older brother, who is this?" He said. Jade's older brother?
"I...I didn't know Jade had an older brother." I stuttered.
  "She doesn't like talking about me much. I left home to go into the army a long time ago. She was really mad at me." He said. His voice was so charismatic."You still didn't say who YOU were."
"I'm Tori Vega. Jade's girlfriend." I said, and I could feel him smile over the phone.
"Oh! No wonder she's been muttering 'Tori' in her sleep." He laughed.
"Since you're back in town, I guess she's been spending the day with you?" I asked him.
  "No. I got home while she was sleeping. Jade's ill today, she's got a high fever." He informed me. I frowned. So she's been sleeping all day.
"Do you mind if I drop by in a few? I'll make her some soup." I said, and he laughed again.
   "It's not really up to me, you ARE her girlfriend." He said, and then I hung up.
I made my way over to the kitchen and popped some of the soup my mom made yesterday into the microwave, and got a bowl to put it in. After burning my hands several times on the hot soup bowl, I finally took it and called Trina down from upstairs.
  "Trina, can you drive me over to Jade's?" I asked her as she came down the stairs.
"Why should I help you?" Trina asked me.
  "Because I'm your little sister!" I said, begging her to take me now.
She caved and drove me over there. I walked up to the door only to have it answered by the man with the same voice I heard over the phone.
  "Hello there! I didn't know my little sister's girlfriend was so pretty." He said, and I blushed. He led me in and then down the stairs to my girlfriend's bedroom. He opened the door and let me in, shutting the door behind me, he went back upstairs.
   "Jade?" I asked, feeling her forehead with the back of my hand. She was hot.
"T-Tori?" Jade asked, her eyes fluttering open."What are you doing here?"
  "Well, your brother let me in." I said.
"My little brother?" She asked, puzzled.
  "No, your older brother." I said, and Jade's eyes widend.
"What? How could he have? Tori, my older brother's in-" Jade asked.
  "He came back this morning." I said, and she smiled.
"I love you Tori." She said, and hugged me close to her.
  "I love you too, babe. Next time," I said getting closer to her bedroom door,"call me when you're ill. Then I won't have to worry about you all day, okay?" I said, blew her a kiss and then left, waving to her brother.
