Shortly after the formation of the Justice League and their failed battle against Steppenwolf, who was sent to Earth on orders by Darkseid in his self-made goal of acquiring the Anti-Life Equation, Batman and Wonder Woman realize that they need Superman to save Earth. Flash and Cyborg retrieve Superman's body and use the Speed Force to revive him in the Kryptonian ship in Metropolis. Aquaman on the other hand does nothing. They succeed, and Superman emerges healed but disoriented, standing amidst the shattered statue at Heroes Park, struggling to collect his thoughts.
After about a day, Clark Kent, who is Superman, fully regains his memories and reunites with his mom after a romantic moment with Lois Lane. Clark, supposing he owes Bruce, locates the crashed Kryptonian scoutship he found years ago, supersuit. After which, he basks in the glory of the sunlight, as a way to recharge his superpowers. Superman flies off and reunites with the rest of the League, stopping Steppenwolf right as he was nearly about to kill Cyborg and destroy the planet. The Man of Steel easily managed to overpower the servant of Darkseid, and they symbolize a message to the God of Apokolips. Soon after, Superman joins the Justice League as a way to help protect the planet from other potential world-ending events and foes.
