Description
Many thanks to ^SaTaNiA for the DD! I was very surprised and pleased when I found out this morning.--
I had the idea for this fractal a few days ago. It's essentially a simple Spherical gasket, but taken from a strange angle, and with some added details. I was aiming to create both a mystical and a slightly mechanical effect, hence the title, which is taken from a Joe Satriani album.
Made with Apophysis 7X.

Sorry for the late reply, and thanks a lot for the nice comment. When I look at a fractal, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to eat it as well, hehe.

I always get this concept in my head, that it would have a texture similar to the inside of a non-chewy gummy - that perfect squishy-solid texture that just sorta smoothly moves around but doesn't quite lose its cohesion...and the taste varies in the colours of the fractal - each colour would shoot intense exacting fruity (or chili-pepper n chocolate as one someone did a few years back, had given me thoughts of) flavours - and not like how JuicyFruit claims, but the kind of real and lasting flavor, that hits the dopamine creation section of the brain!

Thanks! I haven't had much practice with the 3D variations in Apophysis, but it's fun to try occasionally, even if trying to think in an extra dimension is confusing, a lot of the time. That's probably why I couldn't really get to grips with Mandelbulb.

oh... you shoulod try Bryce or 3DsMax or Blender... you want to be confused! LOL... first time I ever tried Bryce I was completely lost... but after a while you start to get use to 3D, and I think that helped me with understanding things like Apo 3D and MB3D
and very welcome

I hear that 3DsMax is ridiculously expensive, so I doubt that I'll ever get the chance to use it, haha... I don't know much about those other two. I might have to look into trying those at some point; we'll see.

yeah it is very expensive... I have never used it but it does very nice work from what I have seen...
Daz was offering Bryce, Daz Studio 4 and Hexagon a little while back for free, not sure if they still are

Nice work. I was just about to ask if it was a Satriani title until I finished reading your description!

Thank you very much! I think that must be because I'm finally starting to understand colour speed.

Absolutely love this Chris, I thought it was an MDB image initially

Thanks Steve, I'm glad you thought so. I haven't had much practice with the 3D options on Apophysis, but it's something I'm hoping to keep trying.

Thanks - orange and blue is one of my favourite colour combinations for fractals, strangely.

Thanks a lot! I used swirl, noise and a gaussian blur to create the various glow effects.
