Full page of a sketch for Link. I digitized and colored the full body concept sketch yesterday, as I wanted to evaluate different colors for his design. I tried reimagining him based on some of my favorite parts of his outfits from BoTW; the diamond circlet inspired his Triforce diadem, pauldrons and greaves inspired by the soldier set, and other elements of the Hylian tunic and trousers. I really like Link's recent designs without his classic cap on, although that's probably what the next Zelda mainline game will go back to. I gave everything from Link's armor to his shield and sword a plant motif. The various golden vine adornments accent the verdant green of Link's tunic. I took inspiration from a Bird of Paradise plant for the sword's decorative guard and tried to make it look like the wings on the Master Sword's guard for some grounding of the design in something familiar. All things considered, I did intend to complete more fully drawn bodies so I could push myself as an artist more. My inclination to only do neck-up or waist-up drawings was the default 'comfortable' thing for me, and I've learned the more ambitious drawings, even if they fall short of my ideal version, is at least always good practice!
